Do I need forklift operator training?

To ensure the safety of your workforce whilst operating a forklift it is essential that the correct training is completed.

Incidents involving forklifts account for a quarter of workplace transport accidents causing injury and damages. It is a legal requirement that companies train staff to use equipment as part of their Health & Safety policy and Risk Assessment.

Our range of Forklift Training Courses cover complete novice users through to forklift certificate renewals and bespoke training packages.

The course length varies from 3-5 days but the duration of the training is dependent on the number of trainees in a class and experience level.. As a guide the beginners forklift training is 5 days.

After completing the forklift training course there is no legal requirement to complete the refresher training. It is highly recommended however that operators undertake refresher training every three to five years to be relevant to changing regulations.

Your forklift licence is awarded once you have completed the forklift training course and is a record of your training. It does not expire, however it is advised to keep it up to date by attending the refresher course.
